Enter the areas you need to insulate and get an instant board count. No sign-up, no fuss.
Calculate how many 2400mm x 1200mm boards you need for your project.
Standard PIR insulation boards come in a 2400mm x 1200mm sheet. Enter the width and length of each area you need to cover and the calculator will work out the minimum number of boards required, with a 10% waste allowance built in.
You can add as many areas as your project requires. The total area and estimated waste are shown alongside the board count so you can plan your budget accurately before you buy.
Bear in mind that the waste figure assumes reasonably efficient cutting. If your project involves a lot of awkward shapes or irregular gaps, you may want to add an extra board or two as contingency.
Ordering the right number of boards is only half the battle. PIR is notoriously difficult to cut in a straight line: the material encourages the blade to wander, leading to wedge cuts, miscuts, and boards that simply do not fit.
Every board wasted adds to your material cost and creates non-recyclable waste that ends up incinerated or in landfill. Slideguide was designed specifically to solve this problem, eliminating blade deviation so every cut is clean and straight.
